Description

Hanashield Elastomeric Sealer is a premium waterproofing and sealer membrane based on a 100% acrylic elastomeric polymer system with excellent flexibility, adhesion, and protection properties to protect concrete and masonry surfaces. It is a highly flexible coating to cover hairline cracks and has excellent adhesion to seal the pores on the concrete to prevent further water penetration into the substrate. It is a green and eco-friendly product without any harmful substances.

Premium elastomeric sealer and waterproofing system for all masonry surfaces such as brickwork, concrete, plaster, and textured surfaces. Suitable for use as eco-friendly concrete wall sealer and waterproofing roofing.

Application Data

Mixing ratio: not applicable

Application Method: airless spray, roller, brush

Mixing Procedure : Hand stir for at least two minutes or until homogeneous.
Drying schedule : Drying by water evaporation. Higher film thickness, insufficient ventilation, or lower temperature will require longer drying time.

This product requires the substrate temperature to be above the dew point ( + 3~5 0 C).

Application Procedure

Mix properly the paint before use.

  1. Flush equipment with water before use.
  2. Mix the paint thoroughly until homogeneous.
  3. Thin with water only if necessary for workability.
  4. When applying by conventional spray, use adequate air pressure and volume for proper atomization.
  5. Apply a wet coat in even parallel passes, and overlap 50% to avoid holidays and pinholes.
  6. Excessive thickness can prolong drying and sagging.
  7. Clean up all equipment with water immediately after use.
  8. Keep containers tightly close and store them in a proper storage area.

Condition of Application

Use a brush or roller with a 1/8″ nap. Apply at a sufficient thickness and avoid repeating rolling to have good leveling.

Surface Preparation

General :
Surfaces must be clean and dry, and all contaminants like dirt, dust, and oil must be removed by appropriate methods to ensure good adhesion.

 

Moisture
Ensure the surface is dry before painting. Moisture must be < 10% before application

 

Concrete Structure
Concrete must be cured for at least 30 days prior to coating and must be free from moisture as much as possible. The surface must be cleaned, and free from any contaminant, laitance, and loose film. Broom cleaning, vacuum cleaning, air blast cleaning, and steam and water cleaning are suitable as outlined in ASTM D4258.

 

Contaminants
Remove dust and foreign matter by cleaning with a damp cloth. Remove oil or grease using mild detergent and allow the surface to dry.

 

Safety Precaution & Clean-Up

 

Safety :

Read and follow the material safety data sheet (MSDS) before use. Employ normal safety precautions. Put on necessary personal protection equipment when handling and using this product.
 Ventilation : when working in a confined workplace, thorough air ventilation must be used during and after application until the coating is cured. The ventilation system should be effective to prevent solvent vapor concentration from reaching a lower explosion limit for the product and to ensure exposure limit to the personnel is below the permissible exposure limit.
Caution : All electrical equipment and installations should be made and properly grounded. In areas where explosion hazards exist, workmen should be used non-ferrous tools and conductive and non-sparkling shoes.
Clean-up : Use Hana Paint polyurethane thinner (Hana Thinner U)  or hydrocarbon solvent for cleaning. Observe safety precautions when using the solvents. In case of spillage, absorb and dispose of the material and used container according to local required regulations or through a licensed waste collector.
